How to layer your child's bed so they can sleep in their bed without a diaper- and without a lot of cleanup.
Our youngest son isn't quite ready to fully potty train yet, but he stays dry at night! It's so exciting! We've decided to let him sleep commando because we can. I don't mind occasionally needing to clean up a mess, but I wanted to share how we're layering his toddler crib bed to make it easier for clean up.
I picked up a cheap yoga mat at 5 and Below. I laid it down on his crib mattress. The yoga mat acts as "waterproofing" to keep the bedding and mattress from getting wet (we also have a mattress cover on too).
Then I took a couple of beach towels and laid them down over that. Once finished with the "absorbency," I laid a soft fleece blanket that I made over it all. Then he has his normal blanket that goes over him.
The setup appears to be super comfy for him and when he wet the bed, it was easy to swap out the towels and blanket. I wiped the yoga mat down and replaced with new towels. It was SUPER easy to cleanup.
That said, I did all this and he hasn't wet his bed at all since that first night.
