Simple Chair Makeover {For Our Lego Desk}

Simple Chair Makeover: This is a simple chair makeover that I completed to go with the Lego desk that I distressed for my son.

This is a simple chair makeover that I completed to go with the Lego desk that I distressed for my son.

My son's Lego Desk was in need of a chair. He had nothing to sit on and I was feeling a bit guilty that I made him this super cool desk and no chair.

Fortunately, I was able to find a super cute wood chair used to update for his room. I LOVE going to Restore which is a thrift store by Habitat for Humanity that sells a lot of used household items and construction items- everything from toilets and doors to chairs and couches.

I think I ended up paying $10 for it and it needed very little to update it.

This is the chair before and after:

I decided to just wipe some stain over the whole thing... I used ebony stain which I was using for another project as well. I wish I'd sanded the legs and other blueish areas a bit first because I think it would've looked cooler, but alas.. I did not. Needless to say, I just painted the stain on, wiped it off with an old t-shirt rag, and then applied poly once it all dried. Very simple and now the chair looks new.

Here are a couple affiliate links to the supplies that I used (note: I actually used a non fast drying poly but I figured I'd link this one because fast drying seems like a way better idea):
