Learning on the Go: Part II {Grocery List}I've been working on some learning on the go activities for my son, 3 years old, because he seems to learn best when we do mundane activities like grocery shopping and it's easier to get his undivided attention when we are out. If you haven't had a chance to read the first part of my post, check out Learning on the Go: Part I

The first post covers the map that I "made" for him. The post is about our grocery list. This has been on my to do list for a while because he loves to help and it's a great opportunity to work on counting. The grocery store has small carts for children which he absolutely loves and he likes to count out fruit for me when we go. Right now he's great at counting up to 10, but he can't always identify the numbers if they're written out. This activity is meant to help with that.

As stated in previous posts, this is the laminator that my husband got me and it goes on sale here and there which is nice. It's a good idea to pick up some pouches as well because this came with only two pouches which STINKS when you're just so excited to get going on projects. I use 5 mil for thicker items and 3 mil for regular paper.

I decided to keep the grocery list very simple. Hopefully he will start being able to recognize the words now that he sees the word and picture next to each other. Once he learns these, I may make another list to help him learn more words.

All you need to do is print this, then laminate it. You can use an erasable marker to either write a number for your child to find on the line, or to let them check things off. My son really adores checklists.

If you want a copy of my list, you can download it here.

Here's my buddies shopping!
