17 Great Crafty Gifts for Grandparents {Great Gifts for Mother's and Father's Day!}

The Great Crafty Gifts for Grandparents Roundup {Great Gifts for Mother's and Father's Day!}: Sewing, DIY, and other Crafty Gifts

17 Crafty gift ideas for grandparents, moms, dads, and other loved ones.
I was going to do a roundup post for Fathers Day, but realistically so many of these gifts work for so many holidays. Fathers, mothers, and grandparents all can appreciate these gifts for Father's Day, Mother's Day, Grandparent's Day, Christmas, or any other holiday you celebrate! We don't celebrate Grandparent's Day, but rather treat Mother's and Father's Day as Grandparent's Day as well.

These are all gifts that I've found or made for grandparents, or focused on in other blog posts. Some are sentimental, some are practical, and most are just fun to create. I think personalized gifts are generally sentimental gifts because of the time they take and how you can make the gift to appeal to the person by choosing the right fabrics.

1. Journals to Pass Down to Kids: These journals are really cool. I found the first two to be a little over priced and not as pretty as I'd like, but I LOVE the idea and the questions are great. I found the one on the far right and ordered it for this Father's Day in hopes it'll be a bit more of what I'd like- it was only $10.82 when I purchased and had free Prime shipping. You could definitely DIY this if you were feeling motivated. I may eventually do a post on this if I don't find one that fits my needs 100%. I'm hoping the one on the right will be just what I wanted.

By purchasing using the above links, you help support my blog. Thank you!

Note: Just got the Grandpa, Tell Me Your Memories in and it's a beautiful hardcover and there's questions by date so you've got a short journal entry for each day. Really neat. It doesn't leave as much space as the journals on the left, but it's a thicker journal overall. Really really love it!

2. Take Beautiful Photos of Beautiful Grandchildren: I don't know too many people who don't love photos. Photo gifts can get pricey, but the prints themselves are affordable and often make more sense than giving photo mugs for every holiday for the rest of eternity. The occasion photo mug is great, but I quickly realized I might be going overkill on the photo mugs. Recently, I've been sending prints. That way family members can update their frames. My first link below is a post I wrote about taking nice pictures with a point and shoot camera. The I've got a DSLR now and the second link is my post about the difference I'm seeing now that I have the better camera. The third link is a link to Craftsy where you can take a free class on taking photographs (tips for your DSLR or point and shoot), or you can also find more detailed classes on photography as well (prices for classes range, but keep an eye out for sales).

3.  Bowl Covers: These bowl covers can be used as an alternative to plastic wrap. I love mine and mine aren't even as pretty as the ones I made for family... I should really fix that and make some pretty ones for myself.

4. Wall Art: I did the wall art collage for the nursery, but they could easily be a gift. Less personalized is the fabric wall art I did for my own house. And last, but not least- photo canvas. It's as easy as using a little mod podge to a blank canvas to apply a photo. I make these all the time.

5. Car Trash Bags (Or Organizers): I feel like these make a fun gift because they can be personalized and they're really a nice item to have. I made these for Christmas for my family at one point.

6. Dopp Kit: I made a couple attempts at this before I got it right. This was something I made for my husband and added a pocket to put his wedding band when he takes it off at night. I love the finished product...

9. Reversible Chalkboard Table Runner: This came out so beautifully. There's chalkboard fabric on the other side that you can write on. So so much fun.

10. Unpaper Towels and Napkins: Go Green! Save money! These are gifts they can use every day.

11. Hand Print Dish Towels: This is a more personalized gift for grandparents. Add your child's handprints to dish towels! No sewing involved.

12. Photo Puzzle: This is a review I did for a company who makes picture puzzles.

13. Bath Apron: This is a great gift if the receiver of your gift has to bath squirmy children or pets. I made this for my husband and he loves it. We use it all the time and it's so large that it works awesome for keeping daddy dry.

14. Grocery Tote Bags from Grandchild: This year's Father's Day gift idea was to let my sons create personalized grocery tote bags for his Pop (my father-in-law, my dad doesn't grocery shop).

15. Art Frame: I have been eagerly waiting to pick these up, but I think these may be a Christmas gift seeing as our son isn't quite drawing anything that makes sense yet. THESE ARE SO AWESOME. Such a great idea and perfect for storing lots of children's art. I'll probably get one for each of the kids as they become old enough to make us art. Goodbye refrigerator door art. Hello fine art. Haha.

16. Reusable Gift Bags to Wrap Your Gift In! I'm just a huge fan of cloth gift bags. They last forever and never get wrinkled. And I can pick cute fabric!

17. Cards! Don't forget a card! I've got a couple nice cards I've done. The photo cards I made for Christmas, but you could make your own photo cards for other holidays as well.

I hope this has been a helpful post for those of you looking for a wonderful gift for your loved ones! I apparently have a ridiculous amount of gift posts because I've been having trouble keeping this limited to just a few posts... I kept adding before cutting myself off at 15... I mean... 16... oops 17.
