We're having our second boy in early November so I decided to organize all the baby clothes. I mostly separated Baby G's clothes when I packed them away in big containers way back when, but I wanted to go back through them to separate things out because I mixed some boxes a little and I wanted to put everything in Ziploc Space to Go bags that I picked up from Costco. The boxes are heavy for me to carry around and take up more space, plus they don't fit everything very well so I'd squeeze some extras of one size in with another.

On top of all that, I really needed to take inventory for what I need for Baby K in terms of clothes. It shouldn't be much. Conclusion was that he needs nothing and I need to wait to see what season he hits each size before I buy anything. Haha. If I had a small newborn, I'd probably need to pick up some stuff, but I won't hold my breath on that seeing as G measured 10 lb 12 oz at birth.

What I'm doing is going through all the clothes, resorting them, then organizing them in their labeled bag. I will wait to wash them because I washed them before storing them and I'd rather wash right before K uses each size.

I organized them by the following labels/bags:
This is SOME of the clothes and boxes from before I
organized it all. G had thrown all the clothes from that
empty box EVERYWHERE.
  • Shoes and Socks
  • Bibs and Burp Cloths
  • Hats and Mittens
  • Seasonal/Holiday Wear
  • Newborn
  • 0-3 Months
  • 3-6 Months
  • 6-9 Months
  • 9-12 Months
  • 12-18 Months

If you've never used these, they're pretty easy. You fill the bag below the "max fill" line and then use a vacuum to suck all the air out. Very very easy. Then snap the cap closed.

Before and After: It doesn't look like a huge difference in my pictures, but it is a big difference. I'm glad I'm waiting to rewash them all though because I imagine they'll be pretty wrinkled when they come out!

Finished and stored for easy access.
