Disclosure Policy

This policy is valid from 01 December 2011.

This blog is a personal blog written and edited by me. This blog accepts forms of cash advertising, sponsorship, paid insertions or other forms of compensation. Please contact me at danielle@diydanielle.com if you're interested in advertising on my site.

This blog abides by word of mouth marketing standards. We believe in honesty of relationship, opinion and identity. The compensation received may influence the advertising content, topics or posts made in this blog. That content, advertising space or post will be clearly identified as paid or sponsored content. Sponsors compensate me for the advertising space; some sponsors may pay per click or per purchase made from clicking the link. Other sponsors compensate by the number of page views that I receive.

The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely the blog owner's. If we claim or appear to be experts on a certain topic or product or service area, we will only endorse products or services that we believe, based on our experience, are worthy of such endorsement. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer or provider.

My blog is a do-it-yourself blog. I am not a doctor, a plumber, an electrician, etc. Please take safety precautions when you follow my tutorials, and seek advice as necessary from related professionals. While I may endorse some health products, please seek the advice of a medical professional. What works for my family or me may not work for you.

I will do my best to inform you of the risks of each project and safety precautions to take, but be advised that if you follow my tutorials you do so at your own risk. I cannot cover every safety scenario as there are a lot of them involved with do-it-yourself projects. I use a lot of sharp objects and I certainly hurt myself occasionally. Be careful. Take your time. Store dangerous items away from children and pets. Read the instructions and manuals on all products and tools that you use. Many have safety warnings. If you're running a screwdriver, the bit may get hot. If you touch it with bare hands, you can get burnt. Always be aware of where your body parts are when you use machines that could sew, drill, or cut you. I always run a body part check when I'm using a saw. Are my hands, fingers, legs, hair, etc. far away from the blade and where the blade will be? I grew up watching my dad, a contractor and builder, get injured. Putting a nail through your thumb, cutting off a part of your finger, etc. generally involve trips to the ER and a Tetanus shot. Try to avoid that.

PAY ATTENTION. Think things through. Don't let kids, pets, or adults run around you while you're using dangerous equipment.

Before you start a project, ASSESS YOUR RISKS. Identify possible risk factors and figure out how to mitigate the risks.

If you can't properly pay attention and think things through, wait for a better time to complete your project. I have had to put a project down because I wasn't in the right mindset and I didn't want to hurt myself. Usually I take that opportunity to do a safer project instead. Happy crafting!
