I love candles. LOVE. So I REALLY wanted to learn how to make my own. Not only would it be fun to make for my own home, but these would be awesome gifts for family and friends.

Now it sounded really easy- similar to making lip balm. Turns out it's easy AND quick. I may never buy candles again. And the candles look particularly gorgeous in the homemade cement candle holders that I made (Learn how to make your concrete candle holder using Buddy's Artisan Mix and silicone molds).

For just the candle supplies, this ran around $44. These will make a LOT of candles though. The wicks are about $.07 per candle. I'd love to calculate the expense per candle for everything else but quite frankly I am not sure how many candles they'll make. You only need a few drops of the oils. And there was SO much wax in the bags I got. I am assuming it'll run $1-2 per candle, depending on the size of your candles.
