This recipe was REALLY good. It made a lot of food because it was such a large cut of meat that I used (I used a big shoulder) so I was glad we had friends over that night to share. Our friends really enjoyed it. The pork ended up being very nicely flavored with the bacon which was a surprise because it's not always the case.
I did prefer this fresh vs. leftovers, although the leftovers were good.
We served this with white rice. A salad would go well with this.
Notes: I added 2 cups of water and 2 bouillon cubes to recipe and used kosher salt because I didn't have the type the website recommended. You could probably do 1 cup water/1 bouillon cube instead, or just skip it altogether like the recipe suggests, but I feel weird not having some liquid to slow cook with (is that weird?).
