Dinosaur play ideas for toddlers.
So mostly we sit around and the dinosaurs eat toy trees... Because I may have suggested that's what they eat. Hey... I'm sure in dire times, the t-Rex may have had a nibble or two of vegetation? No? Okay well we'll work on the scientific part when he's old enough to know why biting, hitting, and kicking aren't okay.
Today we were giving the little dinosaurs rides on the big dinosaur's backs. This seemed like a good idea.
Then my son decided the dinosaurs needed "uppy" (getting picked up/carried) and apparently the T-Rex would best do this by holding them in his mouth.
Ah... Oh boy. In fairness, he did let the T-Rex drink "milkies" from the Triceratops afterwards.
My friend Melinda suggested the dinosaurs play hide and go seek... My son LOVED this game. This seemed also like a good way to introduce the idea of hide and seek rules... We've played before but honestly I've got to exert way too much energy because he opens his eyes way too fast for me to hide. So I have an asthma attack trying to run out of sight before he opens them. Not even kidding. It's hard to hide when you're mouth breathing HARD. Haha.
So it's great that if the dinosaurs play hide and go seek, I don't even have to stand up. Woohoo.
Then, coincidentally, I saw this idea posted to Facebook. Way cool and we had some perfect sized dinos to use! We froze the small dinosaurs in balloons filled with water. This is REALLY hard to do, but G liked to help me put the dinosaurs inside the balloons so it was a fun activity before we even got started. I am happy we have a huge deep freezer to use for this.

Here's a video of us playing!
Thanks for coming to visit today. How do you play with dinosaurs!?
