G loves watermelon so when I saw this tutorial on how to cut it up for toddlers, I was thrilled. Less "crust" is good... If I'm not careful, he eats the rinds so it's nice to have more watermelon, less rind accessible. Obviously it's cuter to watch him eat the huge piece of watermelon though.
I also decided to make some watermelon Popsicles with the extra watermelon. I cut my watermelon like stated in the tutorial, but I cut off the very ends like this then trimmed off the edible portions and threw them in the food processor. I had these old Popsicle molds to use which were the perfect size- I wanted smaller sized Popsicles. I poured the liquid into the molds and let them freeze. Done! He seemed happy with them!
Note: The molds are for alcoholic beverages. I didn't add alcohol to these obviously.
