Daddy B mentioned the other day that he used to enjoy playing with his Grandma's magnetic bingo chips when he was a kid and that he thought Baby G would like them. I decided it was worth a shot and ordered (affiliate links) Bingo Magnetic Wand with 100 Chips - Green and Bingo Magnetic Wand with 100 Chips - Blue off Amazon (they were $6.25 each, but they had a shipping fee associated too).
I took an empty container that I decided would be worth upcycling, cleaned it out, peeled off the sticker (not as well as I'd like unfortunately), and put the bingo chips in there. I think I might order some more eventually because... well... the container looks empty.
Baby G was a fan and spent quite some time playing with these and also trying to move the chips back and forth from the container. Cleanup was easier too (than say, lima beans, which we also like to play with) thanks to the fun magnetic wands.
Safety Note: These ARE small pieces and the label clearly says it's a choking hazard for children under 3. Supervise your child, especially if they like to eat everything, or wait until they're old enough to play with these safely. Alternatively, you could keep the chips in the jar and keep it shut firmly, just letting them play with the magnetic wand on the outside of the jar. It works. Not as much fun, obviously.
