DIY Door Knob Childproofing

Sharing is caring!

My friend Jessica over at her blog, The Paleo Veggie, showed me how she did this at her house. I found a cheap set of these oven knob things at Totswap and ordered a second set from Amazon so I decided to try it.

We have SIX door knobs in the play area… One to a full bathroom, one to the outside, two to unsafe storage/tool areas, one to upstairs, and one to a smaller storage closet. That’s a lot of running back and forth as Baby G tests his new skills.

All I did was cut through the back piece along the side. It’s a big sharp so it’s worth sanding down to make it smooth in case your kiddo grabs it wrong and scratches himself. So far these are working great for us! I was also pleased to find that this set works on the stove knobs as well… the last set we bought didn’t work at all.
