Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! I hope everyone is having as blessed of a Christmas as we are.

We managed to have an affordable Christmas this year. We found two used play kitchens for $40 on Craigslist and cleaned them up for Baby G. Daddy B used a hair dryer to get a ton of stickers off one of the kitchens- it looks brand new again (and we didn't have to put them together). The diner is my favorite though! For $5 we got a huge bag of kitchen items like food, plates, etc. I've found that big items like this are great to buy used because they're put together already and they last forever (Step2, Little Tikes, etc are built to last!). There's even some great tutorials on Pinterest on how to paint older faded Little Tikes items like picnic tables- and they look AWESOME.

I like to buy electronics new because they go obsolete so fast and the electronics can die sooner (ie. phone battery dying), unless I don't need something too high tech or can get a new battery replaced easily and affordable. I also want a return policy on some items (ie. tv, computer). Clothing we generally get used/thrift, especially because people will often sell (or give away) entire bags of clothing. We have a Seventh Avenue store that has great prices on thrift clothes too- I got a 24 month snowsuit for $4.90. It's nice to pick and chose what you buy new vs. used because its an easy way to cut spending, as well as to save the environment by reusing items that would otherwise get tossed. Can you imagine a landfill with all used Little Tikes picnic tables if everyone had to have one new?

Here are some pictures from our day! Baby G was so overwhelmed... But he loved everything! He ate his breakfast in his diner. Love it!
