I saw a pattern for this crib organizer a while ago and decided not to buy it because store bought patterns make my head spin. I have never gotten past cutting the pattern out of that really crappy thin pattern paper. I just don't get it. I decided it would be easier to make my own and wing it.
Folded the fabric for the pockets in half (half the height, not the width). Sew a straight stitch with a 1/4" seam allowance up the long side.
Turn. Top stitch the long side.
Both pockets completed.
I folded over the edges to my straps.
Pinned and top stitched. Cheating as usual so I didn't have to turn and topstitch such small pieces of fabric.
All my straps.
Top stitch along the lines to create your pockets and topstitch along the bottom of each pocket.
I placed the right sides together of the big two fabrics, then I used my measuring tape to figure out where my straps should go. Place an pin the straps. Tuck in the ends at the bottom so they don't get sewn up when you stitch.
Stitched around with 1/2" seam allowance, backstitch over the straps, leave a hole to turn the fabric, then trim the excess.
Turn right sides out, fold over edge to the hole so you can close it up while topstitching, topstitch the entire organizer .
